Over 50000 saplings planted from Durg to Kumhari Staff Reporter DURG Where there is nature there is life and when this nature is damaged life is also affected. To realise this phrase on the instructions of Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena a large-scale tree plantation campaign has been started by the Municipal Corporations in the cities and villages. Along with plantation regular maintenance of plants is also being done and people are also being made aware. Under this campaign a target has been set to plant more than 90729 saplings across the city. Under this tree plantation campaign 52950 saplings have been planted. Saplings were planted by the Municipal Corporations at various places in colonies premises houses and chowk intersections. Municipal Corporation Bhilai has a target of planting 16671 saplings out of which 6447 saplings have been planted so far. Municipal Corporation Durg has a target of planting 23595 saplings out of which 16550 saplings have been planted. Municipal Corporation Risali has a target of planting 10050 saplings out of which 5320 saplings have been planted so far. While 16005 saplings are to be planted by Municipal Corporation Charoda out of which 2670 saplings have been planted. Tree plantation work has been done at a rapid pace in the cities as well as the villages. A target of 1400 saplings was set in Municipality Dhamdha more than the target 3910 saplings have been planted. The target was 2500 in Ahiwara in which 2750 saplings were planted more than the target the target was 1370 saplings in Jamul in which 2070 saplings were planted more than the target the target was 1860 in Patan Municipality of the district in which 1535 saplings were planted. Similarly a target of 1870 saplings has been set in Amleshwar 1800 saplings in Utai and 10000 saplings have been set in Kumhari out of which 8028 saplings were planted.
