Police seize gold silver worth Rs 1.80 crOur CorrespondentJANJGIR- CHAMPAIN a major catch police recovered huge quantity of gold and silver jewellery from two vehicles during checking drive near Hathnevra on Korba road. As much as 2.11-kilogram gold jewellery and 75.415-kilogram silver jewellery valued Rs 1.80 crore was recovered in action. Soni was possessing 509 grams gold jewellery and 32.643-kilogram silver jewellery. Saraf was possessing 1.812-kilogram gold jewellery and 43.572-kilogram silver jewellery. Notice under section 91 Criminal Procedure Code was given to both for producing documents regarding possessing gold and silver jewellery.

Police seize gold silver worth Rs 1.80 cr Our Correspondent JANJGIR- CHAMPA IN a major catch police recovered huge quantity of gold and silver jewellery from two vehicles during checking drive near Hathnevra on Korba road. As much as 2.11-kilogram gold jewellery and 75.415-kilogram silver jewellery valued Rs 1.80 crore was recovered in action. The jewellery has been recovered under Section 102 of CrPC and matter has been forwarded to Executive Magistrate and GST Department. In view of upcoming elections police have launched checking drive to curb illegal activities. During checking drive near Hathnevra police intercepted two vehicles with two persons Shankar Lal Soni and Saurabh Kumar Saraf on board. Soni was in the vehicle number CG 11 AH 9546 and Saraf in vehicle number CG 11 AL 5338. Soni was possessing 509 grams gold jewellery and 32.643-kilogram silver jewellery. Saraf was possessing 1.812-kilogram gold jewellery and 43.572-kilogram silver jewellery. Notice under section 91 Criminal Procedure Code was given to both for producing documents regarding possessing gold and silver jewellery. However none of them could produce documents and eventually jewellery was seized under section 102 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on the suspicion of being related to a crime due to the absence of any valid document. Champa SHO Inspector Manish Singh Parihar Sub Inspector Dahriya Assistant Sub Inspector Ramprasad Baghel Head Constable Amrit Surya had a commendable contribution in the above proceedings.
