275 missing children rescued under Operation 'Talash'

RAIPUR: Registering success in recovering the missing children, Chhattisgarh police had launched operation 'talash' on the guidelines of High Court and have found 275 children including 207 girl children in last one month. High court had ordered the department to launch special campaigns and recover these missing children,, following which, the operation 'talash' was launched.During the operation, these 275 children were found from railway stations, bus stands, shelter homes in and out of state including Jammu, Maharashtra and Delhi. According to senior officials in police department, there were about 1195 children missing that include 432 boys and 763 girls in state between 2001 and 2017. The operation was executed in collaboration with various NGOs in other states and women and child department. The children were handed over to their parents.Durg police went hi-tech by posting missing children's pictures and details on Facebook which also brought fruitful results, officers said.Meanwhile, considering the success of operation Talash with good results within one month, it was decided that the operation would be extended for another two months till August 15 and search of children would be still on.
