Suicides in Chhattisgarh: Farmer organisations demand to set up judicial commission

"Farmers here were hopeful that since governments of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states have announced of waving off the farmers' loan, state would too take some decision in our favour, but the insensitivity and disregard towards farmers by the government has forced farmers to commit suicide," Gupta said.CPKS president IK Verma has refuted the clarifications made by state government and has demanded on behalf of the organization that instead of brushing the issue under the carpet, the government should wake up to farmers' suicide and form a judicial commission to find the root cause and a solution to it, else the number of deaths would continue rising.
