RAIPUR: A video has gone viral from a village in Chhattisgarh's Korba district that shows a mob of women beating three women, tearing off their clothes and chopping their braid after accusing them of being involved in sex trade. Korba police have taken cognizance of the issue and have begun probe while there was no trace of three survivors. The local women said that they were fed up with their prostitution business and had earlier reported to police also but as there was no action taken, they took law and order in their hands.Group of nearly 40 women on Wednesday had gone to police station and collector's office after the incident and demanded to take action against the three women who were running sex trade in their locality.The women hailing from Banki Mongra village in Korba district said that they had informed police about the same many times in the past but there was no action taken. Three women who were untraceable till filing of this report were beaten black and blue on Tuesday night, few metres away from their home, when they allegedly were out "looking for customers".Talking to TOI, Korba ASP Tarkeshwar Patel said that police have taken cognizance of the video of incident that has gone viral and based on the identity of women seen in video, an FIR was lodged against four of them and other who were yet to be identified. They were booked under Section 294, 506, 509, 354 and 34 of the IPC. He said that police were also trying to trace the survivors who were not to be found in and around their home.
