Protest over domicile quota admissions

Rajkot: Medical course admission aspirants in the state and their parents protested near Bahubamli Bhavan in the city on Tuesday demanding that the state government take legal course to challenge the Gujarat HC order allowing admission under domicile quota of some students from other states who have studied only in class 12 in Gujarat.Protestor Dr Dinesh Chohan said, “Only those students who have studied from class I in the state should get admission under 85% quota of Gujarat domicile students.”Another parent Alpesh Patel said, “A few institutions enrol students in class 12 from other states and claim seats under the domicile quota even though they do not attend classes in the state.” tnn
