Rajkot: Spurned by her boyfriend after one-year relationship, a 17-year-old girl ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance in Gondal town of Rajkot late on Monday night.The teenager Neha Parmar drank poison at Tulsibaugh garden in Gondal on Monday morning. She was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment.According to police, Neha left a three-page suicide note in which she accused her boyfriend Jignesh Makwana and his friend Vipul Makwana of raping her. She also accused Jignesh’s family members including his father Mohan, mother Hansa and uncles Rauji and Manji of mental and physical torture, which ultimately drove her to take the extreme step, said police.Police has booked six persons including Jignesh, his friend and family members for abetment of suicide. Jignesh and Vipul face additional charge of rape and abduction.According to case details, Neha and Jignesh were in love and had eloped from their houses on April 25, 2017. They took shelter at Jignesh’s uncle Rauji Makwana’s house. A few days later, acting on Neha’s father’s complaint, police had arrested Jignesh and booked him for rape and kidnap. But the medical report of Neha stated that she was not raped. Following this, Neha was sent to special home for girls for three months.When she returned home, she insisted on staying with Jignesh. Therefore, the two families struck a compromise and Neha moved into his house in August last year.Her father has lodged a complaint alleging that Jignesh and his family members had thrown Neha out of their house five days ago. She had also submitted an application of complaint to the Gondal taluka police station against Jignesh and his family on June 16. However, there was no action in this regard.In her suicide note, Neha has stated that Jignesh and his friend Vipul raped her several times. When she complained to Jignesh’s family about it, they allegedly thrashed and abused her.
