Rajkot: Three men who had allegedly stabbed Riyaz Mansuri (33) to death near Alka Cinema on Bhavnagar Station Road in Bhavnagar on Monday night were arrested on Wednesday morning. Police have identified the accused as Sajid Dasadia, Ezaz Qureshi alias Mungo, and Taufiq Sheikh alias Kalu. All are residents of Vadava area in Bhavnagar. The trio was arrested from Rajpara village of Talaja taluka in Bhavnagar district.Mansuri was murdered in full public view by the trio over long-standing animosity. The crime took place while Mansuri was hanging out with his friends. The trio came on a motorcycle and attacked Mansuri with knives. One of the accused slit Mansuri’s throat killing him on the spot. The accused then zoomed away on the bike.“About a year-and-half ago, Ezaz and Taufiq had allegedly murdered Mansuri’s friend Shamsher,” said A-Division police station sub-inspector J P Gadhvi of Bhavnagar police. “The duo was arrested but released on bail a couple of months later. Since then the accused and Mansuri had been engaged in frequent quarrels over Shamsher’s murder.”Mansuri’s younger brother Taufiq Mansuri has lodged a complaint with the A-Division.
