BJP councillor shot at, escapes unhurt

Rajkot: A BJP councillor of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation was shot at by the vice-president of his own party’s youth wing on Tuesday night. Pedhadia arrived in his car there with his driver Jignesh and fired at Bhanderi. Councillor Atul Bhanderi escaped unhurt as he manage to escape from there.In his complaint, Bhanderi (43), a resident of Nandanvan Society on Ranjitsagar Road, has named BJP youth wing leader Hasmukh Pedhadia and his driver Jignesh of committing the crime.“The incident took place when Bhanderi was sitting at a paan shop. Both the accused in the case are yet to be arrested. By this time, Bhanderi fled from the spot,” said A division police station inspector M M Rathod of Jamnagar police.The preliminary investigation of the police has revealed a political rivalry between Bhanderi and Pedhadia as the reason behind the attack.
