RAJKOT: The monsoon has covered the half of Saurashtra, which received moderate rain on Wednesday. The districts that got rain were Junagadh, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar.The most rainfall was recorded in Junagadh district. The five talukas of Jungadh which got the most rainfall were Visavadar (93mm), Bhesan (41mm), Mendarada (38mm), Vanthali (38mm) and Junagadh (30mm). In Rajkot district, Jamkandorana received 57mm while Gondal and Dhoraji got 10mm of rain.In Gir Somnath district, Kodinar and Gir Gadhada talukas received 40 mm, Talala 29mm and Una 16mm of rainfall. In Talala, the Saraswati river was swollen and the Madhavrai temple was submerged. In Amreli district, Vadia taluka received 33mm of rain, Dhari 19mm and Bagasara 10mm. In Bhavnagar district, only Bhavnagar town received 21mm of rainfall, while the rest of the district stayed dry.According to the weather department of Junagadh Agricultural University , there is a likelihood of heavy to very heavy rain in Rajkot district between July 11 and July 15. The department has also forecast medium to heavy rain between July 11 and July 14 in Jamnagar district , between July 11 and July 15 in Surendranagar district, and in the same period in Amreli district.
