Traffic snarls, marooned villages: A tale of monsoon woes

The road between Gundala and Bagaru villages near Junagadh were completely destroyed after they had been washed by flood waters. Aranej, Gohil ni Khan and Sarakhadi villages of Kodinar taluka turned into islands as flood waters submerged the land around them. Luckily, no casualty or injury was reported in the incident.Traffic jam was reported on Bhavnagar coastal highway, which had been completely destroyed after being washed away by flood waters. In Ambala village of Mendarda taluka, the wall of a house belonging to one Rahim Qureshi collapsed.

Rajkot: Traffic snarls on destroyed roads and villages turning into marooned islands were the scenes witnessed across Saurashtra, which was pounded by rains on the fourth consecutive day on Saturday.In Saurashtra, monsoon made its maiden entry into Jamnagar and Surendranagar districts on Saturday.In Junagadh district, Ojat-2 dam on the outskirts of Junagadh and Samli dam near Vanthali were overflowing.
