Rajkot: Thirty-three containers of spurious ghee worth Rs77.5 lakh were seized from a factory near Thangadh in Surendranagar district on Saturday night.“Following a tip-off, we raided Shiv Industries, which was manufacturing and selling spurious ghee. We seized spurious ghee and also eight containers of palm oil, three barrels of chemicals and one of butter during the raid,” said Surendranagar special operations group inspector K A Vala.Factory owner Rajesh Chawda, a resident of Thangadh, was detained during the raid. The officials collected samples of the seized materials for test. Chargesheet will be filed against Chawda once the test report comes, sources said. Officials of food and drugs department were also involved in the raid.
