Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who held an emergency meeting to assess the preparedness in wake of heavy rain, said that the state government has asked for five more NDRF teams in addition to the 15 already stationed here. "Additional Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar said that state government has sought help of the Air Force to rescue people in four villages in Gir-Gadhada taluka that were cut off due to continuous downpour. But as of now there is no change in his programme. "Though the situation is under control, the disaster management authorities have been told remain prepared as the heavy rains are forecast in the next five days,” Rupani told reporters.Asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit beginning July 20, Rupani said, "It is true that Valsad and Junagadh districts where the PM is scheduled to visit are affected due to rainfall.
