Bhagat Singh hawkers’ zone on University Road will be shifted to RMC plot in Pushkardham. The zone near Crystal Mall on Kalavad road will be shifted to RMC plot opposite Nyari filter plant. Rajkot: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to shift two of its hawkers’ zones on Kalavad Road and University Road following complaints of traffic congestion in the areas, especially on weekends and holidays. Currently, there are 103 hawker zones notified by RMC.“All the facility like roads, parking, street lights will be provided in the two hawker zones,” stated an official release from the civic body. RMC also plans to put the two hawkers’ zones under CCTV surveillance as part of the Eye way project initiated by the civic body with the city police.
