Rajkot: The Rajkot rural police on Saturday arrested three persons in connection with the murder of 60-year-old Jivan Sangani, who was shot dead in Bhader village of Dhoraji in Rajkot on July 4 night by seven assailants who wanted to avenge the killing of their relative on June 20.Police arrested Ismail Sandh (25), resident of Vanthli town in Junagadh; Raghuvirsinh allies Javantsinh Vaghela (34), from Dhoraji and Rahim allies Khuri Isabhai Sandh (25) also from Vanthli town for the murder of Sangani. All the three accused are the members of a gang headed by history-sheeter Jusab Allahrakha Sandh, who is also the main accused in the Jivan murder case. Ismail and Rahim are Jusab’s cousins.According to police, Jusab is involved in 40 offences including 15 murders and cases of robbery, firing and extortion in Junagadh, Porbandar and Ahmedabad.Police also seized one double barrel and one single barrel rifle, two country-made revolvers, 13 cartridges of 12 bore, and 14 cartridges of 7.62mm from the accused.Rajkot rural superintendent of police Antrip Sood said, “All the accused were arrested from Chatral village in Dhoraji. They had allegedly killed Jivan to take the revenge of a murder of their relative in which the victim was not even an accused.”Police investigation had revealed that the accused had killed Jivan to avenge the killing of Jusab’s uncle Musa in which Jivan’s second brother Jayanti was the main accused. Musa (55) was bludgeoned to death in Bhader village of Dhoraji taluka on June 20, over a land dispute with Jayanti and his son Vallabh.Jivan was shot dead in an SUV by the accused on July 4 and his body was dumped at Nandarkhi village of Vanthli taluka in Junagadh.Jivan’s murder case is being investigated by state CID crime. Since the murder, Bhader village has been tense and police had been providing security to 40 members of Jivan’s family.
