Following this revelation, the ACB contacted Rajkot A-Division police station which secured his custody.A trader named Jayvant Lathigara (62) had lodged a complaint against Sayed with the Rajkot A-Division police station. “In his complaint, Lathigara alleged that four persons, posing as crime branch officials, had searched his bag at Soni Bazaar area in Rajkot. On checking, Lathigara found 172mg gold jewellery was stolen,” said an official from Rajkot A-Division police station.“In similar fashion, the conmen had duped another trader named Kalpesh Mandesha of 722mg gold jewellery near Diwanpara police chowky on Bhupendra Road in Rajkot. In both cases, the victims did not know the identities of the criminals. However, when Sayed was arrested, he confessed to his involvement in both the crimes,” added the official.Cops have launched a manhunt for Sayed’s co-accused Habib Jafri, Shahid Hussein and Ahmedali Jafri.
