Jetpur CETP issued closure notice

The association has 1,300 units as members.Raju Hirpara, president of the association said, “We have earlier too informed GPCB that there are nearly 300 units working in this area, who are not our members and whose water we don’t treat. But we don’t have the power to close them. It’s GPCB’s duty to close them as they are the troublemakers. I had meeting with the GPCB officials on Monday and they have assured me that closure will be revoked within couple of days.”GPCB started acting after Dhoraji Congress MLA Lalit Vasoya launched a protest agaisnt severe pollution caused in the Bhadar dam by sari industry of Jetpur in August.Vasoya said: “I welcome GPCB’s action. However, GPCB has penalized only small units while the big players continue polluting water.”
