Two transgenders among four detained in massage parlour raid

Rajkot: Rajkot police raided a spa and massage parlour in Malaviyanagar on Sunday and detained its owner along with two Thailand girls and two transgenders working there illegally.DCP, zone-2, Manoharsinh Jadeja told TOI, “A month ago, we had warned the spa owners not to recruit Thai and Russian girls illegally. Police booked him under the Immoral Trafficking Act and the Thai girls under the Immigration Act.Last month, police had raided nearly a dozen such spas and found 46 girls working illegally. On Sunday, we got specific information and raided Ocean Spa Centre.

On Sunday, we got specific information and raided Ocean Spa Centre. The Thai girls had come to India on a tourist visa and were working here despite not having work permit.” As per law, spa owners are supposed to inform the police even if the foreigners they recruit have work permit in India. The spa’s owner Vijay Joshi (24) lives in Gandhigram area. Police booked him under the Immoral Trafficking Act and the Thai girls under the Immigration Act.Last month, police had raided nearly a dozen such spas and found 46 girls working illegally.
