The bootleggers also opened fire at them in Nagadaka village of Sayala taluka in Surendranagar district on Wednesday evening.Police said the accused, identified as Dilip Jhebalia, Pratap Jhebalia, Jhilu Jhebalia, Santu Kathi, Ranjit Kathi, Kuleep Kathi and Shivku Kathi, arrived in a car and waylaid Ravu Dhandhal and Jayesh Khachar.Both Dhandhal and Khachar were going to have snacks in Bhadala village of Sayala taluka, when the accused waylaid them. Accusing them of tipping police off about the liquor cache that was recently seized, the accused attacked them with axes and bats.“When Dhandhal and Khachar, who had received injuries in the attack, ran off to a nearby field to save their lives, the accused allegedly fired two rounds from their firearms.
