Rajkot: The brother of a witness in advocate Kirit Joshi murder case lodged a police complaint on Saturday night alleging that Jayesh Ranparia, the key accused in the case who has fled to Dubai , had been giving threat calls to him for the past two months.According to the complaint lodged by Jaisukh Pedhadia (38), a resident of Raghuvir Park on Ranjitsagar Road in Jamnagar, Ranparia had been giving threat calls to him to persuade his brother Harsu Pedhadia, the witness in the murder case, to remove himself as the witness from the case.“Jaisukh said that Ranparia allegedly threatened to usurp his property and bump him off in a ‘supari’ (contract) killing. Ranparia allegedly said that it would not take him just a crore or two to give his supari to a contract killer and that he would meet the same fate as Joshi,” said an official from Jamnagar B division police station.Joshi was stabbed to death by Hardik Pujara below Jyot Tower opposite Town Hall in Jamnagar on the night of April 28.The ‘supari’ to kill Joshi was given by Ranparia. Ranparia was lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in a land scam. It was Joshi who had busted his land scam resulting in his imprisonment.Ashok Joshi, the brother of the slain advocate, had lodged a complaint against Ranparia, accusing him of hatching the conspiracy to murder his brother.Ashok alleged that Ranparia had been harbouring a grudge against Kirit ever since Kirit exposed him for his involvement in a land scam worth Rs 100 crore. Ranparia also had to remain in jail for a long period. Ashok has accused Ranparia of hiring contract killers to bump Kirit off.
