Two murders rock Anjar taluka

Rajkot: Two murder cases were reported in Anjar taluka of Kutch district on Sunday night and Monday morning.A 31-year-old man was clubbed to death over a trivial issue with a co-worker in a warehouse at Varshamedi village on the outskirts of Anjar on Sunday evening. After the death of Das, the police converted the case from attempt to murder to murder. The reason for the attack was an altercation between Das and Rabari over distribution of work, a few days ago.“Following the fight, Rabari quit the job. Prajapati had left for work at 4am on Sunday and his body was found at 6am. Police said the accused, identified as Parbat Rabari, allegedly attacked John Das (31) with a bat.Das was rushed to Anjar Civil Hospital where he succumbed to head injuries during treatment on Sunday night.

The reason for the attack was an altercation between Das and Rabari over distribution of work, a few days ago.“Following the fight, Rabari quit the job. However, he rejoined duty on Saturday. Both Rabari and Das got into an altercation again on Sunday evening, following which Rabari picked up a bat and started clubbing Das on his head,” said Anjar police station inspector Bharatsinh Parmar.Police booked Rabari on the complaint of Das’ wife Rekha. After the death of Das, the police converted the case from attempt to murder to murder. A manhunt has been launched for Rabari.The second case was reported from Gayatri Crossroads locality of Anjar town on Monday morning when the body of a 62-year-old man was found from a stream with several stabbing wounds.“The deceased has been identified as Ramji Prajapati, who used to work at a tea stall at Gayatri Crossroads. Prajapati had left for work at 4am on Sunday and his body was found at 6am. It appears that he was murdered between the span of two hours,” said Parmar.Police have registered a case against unidentified assailants, whose numbers are yet to be ascertained, on the complaint of Prajapati’s son Bhavesh Prajapati (18), who lives near Prajapati hostel.
