Housing societies in Rajkot will need to keep resident's records

RAJKOT: Police will be starting a drive ‘Safe Home Safe Street’ in the city to create awareness on preventing crimes against minor children. Residential societies should have common playing areas where a watch can be kept on suspicious elements,” Sharma added. Police will take help of self help groups, NGOs and residential societies to reach out to maximum people,” city police commissioner Satish Sharma told TOI.Police will make it compulsory for residential societies to maintain a detailed record of residents. “We have planned a drive to prevent sexual assaults on minors after repeated such incidents. In the recent past, several minor girls were raped and two also murdered in the city.Police want to sensitize people, particularly parents, on the need and methodology for ensuring protection of their children.
