Four robbed of cash, jewellery

Rajkot: Four persons including three women , were robbed of gold jewellery and cash totalling Rs 1.88 lakh after being sedated in Vartej village of Bhavnagar taluka on Friday morning.According to the police, the victims had taken a lift in a car being driven by two unidentified persons to go from Trapaj to Bhavnagar. When they came around, they found themselves inside the car that had been abandoned at Varjet. On the way, the two accused made them drink soft drink laced with sedative, which rendered them unconscious. They found that their cash and gold jewellery was missing.“During investigation, it was found that the car in which the accused were travelling too was a stolen one,” police inspector of Varjet police station I D Jadeja said.The victims were identified as Manju Vegal (47), a resident of Ghogha Road in Bhavnagar, Hansa Baraiya (55), a resident of Ramnagar on Ghogha Road, Savu Kantaria (50), a resident of Gaushala on Ghogha Road, and Kanti Parmar (45), a resident of Ranika locality of Bhavnagar.
