Swine flu kills two more, toll touches 17 in Saurashtra

Rajkot: Two more persons died of swine flu on Tuesday even as four others tested positive in different hospitals of the city. A 28-year-old man from Upleta, a woman (45) from Savarkundla, a 70-year-old man from Babra and 40-year-old man of Kalawad in Rajkot tested positive for the H1N1 virus.People from across Saurashtra come to Rajkot for treatment because of comparatively better medical facilities available in the city. With this, the death toll due to the deadly H1N1 virus has reached 17 since January 1.According to district health officials, 35 people are currently under treatment at various hospitals of the city.The district administration in a statement said that a 52-year-old woman from Porbandar and a 46-year-old woman of Rajkot succumbed to the deadly virus on Tuesday.
