BCA girl student dies as woman rams car into three

Suddenly, a speeding car hit the three girls from behind. Parsana is a native of Monpar village in Amreli district.

Rajkot: The wife of a local businessman crashed her car into three college girls on the University Road, leaving one of them dead on the spot and another injured, on Tuesday.The three students — Charmy Vaghasiya (19), Gopi Parsana (18) and Nancy Sapariya (19) — were walking towards the Panchayatnagar bus stand to catch a bus for their college. Suddenly, a speeding car hit the three girls from behind. Vaghasiya’s head banged into the glass wind shield and then on the road. She died on the spot due to heavy blood loss. Parsana suffered a fracture in the leg while Sapariya escaped unhurt.The woman driver, identified as Charmy Modi, was returning to her home in Paras Society on Nirmala Convent Road after dropping her son to the school. She abandoned the car and fled. Her husband Apurva, who is an iron trader, reached the spot.Meanwhile, crime branch PSI Atul Sonara, who was returning home after dropping his son to the school, saw the commotion and stopped by. He called up University Road police who took Apurva to the police station. Modi was also summoned there and arrested in the evening.Vaghasiya and her two friends were second-year BCA students of Veerbai Mahila College. Vaghasiya and Parsana were room partners in Bombay Housing Board quarters on University Road. Vaghasiya, a farmer’s daughter, was a native of Mewasa village. Parsana is a native of Monpar village in Amreli district.
