IMFL bottles worth Rs 2.9 lakh seized; eight held

RAJKOT: A total of 841 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 2.9 lakh , were seized and eight bootleggers were arrested in different combing operations conducted by the Rajkot rural local crime branch (LCB) officials on Friday night.Ravi Dube was arrested with 111 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 33,300 from a farm owned by Mayursinh Jadeja on the outskirts of Kangashiyali village of Lodhika taluka in Rajkot district “In the second case, Mamad Ravkeda was arrested with 468 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 1.54 lakh, from his SUV near Virpul toll booth. “The IMFL bottles had been kept by Amjad Sama alias Rana, who appeared to have got the whiff of the raid and absconded before we reached the spot,” said V K Gadhvi, inspector with Bhaktinagar police station. The third case was reported from Dhoraji where Dhaval Chaudhary (19), Nilesh Parmar (20) and their associates including a woman identified as Kiran, Vipul, Punit and Jonti Bagada were arrested with 142 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 42,600,” said M N Rana, inspector with Rajkot rural LCB.The fourth case was reported from Jangleshwar locality of Rajkot, where 120 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 60,000, were seized.
