Rajkot: In a macabre incident, a four-year-old girl who had gone missing from near her house in Rasnal village near Gadhada town of Botad district, was found brutally murdered on Tuesday.The girl was playing outside her house when she was abducted by unidentified persons. Her father Bhavesh Chavda, a diamond polisher, had also lodged a complaint of kidnapping with the Dhasa police station.On Monday, her body with severe wounds in the abdomen was found dumped into the bushes on the fringes of the village. Police strongly suspect that she was sexually assaulted and have sent the body for postmortem in Bhavnagar hospital.The incident sparked furore among the Koli community members who thronged the Sir T Hospital in Bhavnagar. Till, the time of going to print, the family had refused to accept the body for cremation until the accused are arrested.Dalit leader Jignesh Mewani, who also reached the hospital, said, "This is the third such crime against young women in Bhavnagar in the last three or four months. Three months ago a small girl's body was found near Bor Talav, but only one accused has been arrested. Those who protest against such rising crimes are detained by the police."Botad local crime branch (LCB) has begun investigation and are questioning some suspects.
