RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das instructed block-level officers in the state to hold ' Janta Darbars ' every month from July onwards. This will help the rural population have better access to government policies and documentation work from the comfort of their homes. The state government will also begin a plantation drive along the banks of 24 rivers in each district on July 2. Das made these decisions during a review meeting of the 20-point programme implementation committee in Ranchi on Wednesday.While instructing 264 block development officers of the state to organise monthly meets at the block level, Das said, "The block-level Janta Darbars will help boost the penetration of government schemes and services among the common people. This will ensure that the implementation is proper and the citizens don't have to scurry around for paperwork for benefiting from the policies." "A total of 45 lakh members of scheduled tribes will benefit from the second phase of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan which will start on June 30. All seven schemes of the Union government aims at uplifting the rural population," he added.
