Jharkhand Academic Council Inter Arts results out, pass percentage goes up marginally

RANCHI: Students heaved a sigh of relief after Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) finally declared the results of intermediate Arts stream on Wednesday. A total of 1,32,179 (72.62%) students passed the intermediate arts exam this year against 71.95% in 2017. The pass percentage improved marginally this year with 72.62% of the students passing the examination.Contrary to intermediate science and commerce results, the pass percentage in the arts stream has improved by a small margin in 2018. "Khunti emerged as the best performing district with a pass percentage of 92.51%. The second and third rank went to Lohardaga and Ranchi with a pass percentage of 90.60% and 86.66% respectively," JAC chairman Arvind Kumar Singh added.Girls maintained their lead across all streams by surpassing the pass percentage of boys once again.

While a total of 77,884 girls passed the intermediate arts exam, amounting to a pass percentage of 74.12%, about 70.57% of the boys were able to score passing marks.The quality of results also improved with 12,430 students passing the examination with first division marks. "The largest chunk of passing students have scored second division marks in arts stream. 67.18% of the students who passed the exams have scored second division marks," Singh said.
