Jharkhand HC cancels Lalu Prasad provisional bail

Lalu's lawyer had sought three more months of provisional bail on health grounds.The CBI lawyer argued that Lalu was misusing the bail provisions and that he goes to his home after getting treatment. He was convicted in two more cases in January and March this year and awarded 14-year imprisonment. Lalu was granted six weeks of provisional bail for treatment in May which was later extended by the court.He was in Ranchi's Birsa Munda Central Jail after being convicted in December 2017 in a fodder scam case. RANCHI: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday rejected the provisional bail of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad, asking him to surrender by August 30.The court while hearing the former leader's regular bail plea on August 10 had said that he could not stay in a house on a provisional bail.
