Stepfather 'rapes' teen daughter for many months

Doranda police station officer in-charge Ramesh Kumar Singh said: "The accused has been sent to jail. RANCHI: Police arrested Etwa Oraon, a resident of Dibdih area, for allegedly raping his 13-year-old step-daughter for several months. "The girl shared her ordeal with her mother when she returned from Mumbai and her mother decided to lodge a complaint," said a police officer. The accused, police said, had raped the girl four times, threatening her of dire consequences if she revealed the the abuse to anyone. The survivor has been sent for a medical examination.

RANCHI: Police arrested Etwa Oraon, a resident of Dibdih area, for allegedly raping his 13-year-old step-daughter for several months. An FIR was lodged in Doranda police station late on Friday evening under various sections of IPC for rape and under Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.In a statement to the police, the survivor said: "I along with my siblings were living with my stepfather as my mother was in Mumbai working as a labourer." The accused, police said, had raped the girl four times, threatening her of dire consequences if she revealed the the abuse to anyone."The girl shared her ordeal with her mother when she returned from Mumbai and her mother decided to lodge a complaint," said a police officer. Doranda police station officer in-charge Ramesh Kumar Singh said: "The accused has been sent to jail. The survivor has been sent for a medical examination. We will be investigating the case."
