RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday asked senior officers of the South Eastern Railways (SER) to consider forming a corporation with the state government for time-bound implementation of railway projects in Jharkhand Das met Purnendu S Mishra - the general manager of SER - and senior officers of Ranchi railway division at his residential office at Kanke Road in the morning. The meeting lasted for 40 minutes.At the meeting, Das asked the SER to consider running the Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Hatia-Lokmanya Tilak Express daily and a new train between Ranchi and Dehradun in Uttarakhand

RANCHI: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday asked senior officers of the South Eastern Railways (SER) to consider forming a corporation with the state government for time-bound implementation of railway projects in Jharkhand Das met Purnendu S Mishra - the general manager of SER - and senior officers of Ranchi railway division at his residential office at Kanke Road in the morning. Here, Das floated the idea of setting up a corporation. “There is a corporation between the railways and Maharashtra government. The work will be done quicker, and projects will be completed on time,” he said.The meeting came one day after the state cabinet gave its nod to cost revision for six railway projects being built jointly by the Union railway ministry and state government on a 50:50 cost sharing basis.The projects include the new 203-kilometer-long railway line between Ranchi and Koderma, 110-kilometer railway line between Koderma and Giridih, a 14km stretch between Koderma and Tilaiya, another 60-kilometer track between Deoghar and Dumka, a 64km track between Dumka and Rampurhat and the 111-kilometer track between Ranchi, Lohardaga and Tori.“When the MoU was signed between the Indian Railways and Jharkhand signed it 2002, the cumulative project cost was estimated at Rs 1,997 crore. But after the third inspection, the cost was revised at Rs 6,505 crore, which was approved by the cabinet today,” Rahate had said on Tuesday.Speaking to reporters outside the CM’s residence, Mishra said the dialogue was positive and constructive.
