Jharkhand para teachers' strike: Village schools most affected by deadlock, says Arjun Munda

RANCHI: Former chief minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda on Wednesday said the issue of para teachers must be resolved soon as more delay would aggravate the matter.Talking to TOI, Munda said the confusion arising out of sacking of para teachers by the Raghubar Das government is directly affecting schools in rural areas. Siding with the salary hike demands of the para-teachers, Kumar said it is a genuine demand and the state government should waste no time to resolve the matter as the education of village students is deeply affected due to the unavailability of teachers. Munda pointed out that para teachers’ selection is done by the gram sabhas in the state and they must be taken into confidence before any decision is made in this connection.Meanwhile, state Congress president Ajoy Kumar, upping its ante against the government, said his party was preparing for a block-wise agitation supporting the demands of the para teachers.
