JMM eyes urban voters, holds interactive meet

Bokaro: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ( JMM ), which is comparatively more popular in rural belts of the state, is putting efforts to gain support from intellectuals and businessmen in urban areas. “JMM, which is biggest regional party, never favoured us believing that we are not their voters. I request you (Soren) to understand us and support us in overcoming our problems,” he said. Soren also gave a patient hearing to those who attended, specially businessmen. In this situation, businessmen are helpless.

Bokaro: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ( JMM ), which is comparatively more popular in rural belts of the state, is putting efforts to gain support from intellectuals and businessmen in urban areas. Working on this strategy, the party’s working president, Hemant Soren , hold a meeting with members of Chamber of Commerce and other promiment membersof society and the affluent class at a hotel in Giridih on Thursday.Soren was in Giridih as part of his Sangarsh Yatra in which he is addressing political rallies in different areas of Giridih. During the meeting in the evening, Soren clearly indicated that JMM is working to strengthen its presence in urban areas to gain positive results in the coming election.This is the first time that the JMM leader is interacting with people belonging to the affluent classes.Earlier in Sangarsh Yatra, he had said he would interact with businessmen, traders and intellectuals and try to know the problems faced by them and promised solutions, if he comes to power. “Though this is my first such interaction session, I want to know the problems, your expectation and how you can support me and vice-versa,” Soren told the gathering.Soren further said JMM will stand by their side in all their difficulties and problems, which the businessmen, traders and other classes faced in current BJP government. Soren also gave a patient hearing to those who attended, specially businessmen. “If JMM forms the government, we will curb corruption and reshuffle the bureaucracy to benefit the people.” he said.President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Girdih, Nirmal Jhunjhunwala said BJP takes businessmen for granted and believes that their fraternity will go nowhere. “JMM, which is biggest regional party, never favoured us believing that we are not their voters. In this situation, businessmen are helpless. I request you (Soren) to understand us and support us in overcoming our problems,” he said.
