Two HC judges take oath of office

Ranchi: Two new judges of the Jharkhand high court took oath of office at an event organized at White Hall on the court campus on Monday. Justices Sanjay Dwivedi and Deepak Roshan took the oath administered by chief justice Aniruddha Bose in presence of other HC judges, judicial officers and senior government officials.The strength of judges in the court has now reached 20 against a sanctioned strength of 25. Registrar general Ambuj Nath, who conducted the oath-taking ceremony, later said the increase in number of judges will help speed up disposal of pending cases and strengthen people’s faith in the judiciary. Officials said over 88,000 cases are pending at the high court and HC is carrying out several drives for their speedy disposal.Several dignitaries, including advocate general Ajit Kumar, DGP D K Pandey, Ranchi DC Rai Mahimapat Ray and SSP Anis Gupta and lawyers congratulated the new judges.
