RANCHI: It took eight invigilators , three jawans and one police inspector to oversee one student who wrote his Media and Entertainment paper for Jharkhand Academic Council’s (JAC) matriculation exam at Lohardaga’s Government Girls’ High School on Wednesday. If these security measures were enough, the student was under the surveillance of CCTV cameras installed at the exam centre.“Eight invigilators were deputed at the exam centre on Wednesday, even though only one candidate wrote his paper. We tried to make him as comfortable as possible,” principal of the school, Emlin Kacchap told TOI. Lohardaga deputy commissioner Akansha Ranjan said, “The security arrangements were made as per the protocol followed for each exam centres, irrespective of the number of students writing their papers.”Board exams for matriculation and intermediate students of JAC began on Wednesday amid tight security arrangements. Over 7.5 lakh students are writing their examinations that conclude on March 9.The exams on Wednesday included optional papers for Class X and vocational papers for Class XII students. All the 1,395 examination centres across the state have been put under CCTV surveillance to check cases of cheating and other malpractices.
