Fr Alphonse gets bail in 2018 gang-rape case

RANCHI: The Jharkhand high court has granted bail to Father Alphonse Aind in the Khunti gang-rape case on the condition that he furnishes two sureties of Rs 25,000 each. “He will be released from jail after furnishing the bonds at the lower court,” he said. He has already secured a bail in the other case lodged in connection with the incident earlier,” said the lawyer, adding that the HC order would be forwarded to the lower court where he is facing trail. Police had then lodged cases against several persons with the women’s and local police station in this connection. The girls were allegedly abducted and gang-raped by members of Patthlagadhi movement and PLFI cadres.
