Daltonganj: Medical College Palamu is waiting for the letter of permission (LoP) from Medical Council of India ( MCI ) to begin the admission process, said officials on Wednesday.
The college, having an intake capacity of 100 students, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February this year.
The two hostel buildings, one for boys and the other one for girls, are also nearing completion.

It is located in Pokhraha Khurd area, about 13km from district sadar hospital in Daltonganj.Talking to TOI on Wednesday, Dr Harbansh K Singh, principal of the college, who is additionally serving as medical superintendent at Patliputra Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad, said, “Unless we receive the LoP admissions can’t begin in any new medical college.”He said that though the state government published advertisements to fill up vacancies in the medical college, it will take some more time to finalise appointments as the model code of conduct is in force.
