“We are learning from different sources that three leaders are in the race for the ticket from Jamshedpur. Our preparation at the party level is going on smoothly.”Polling for both these seats in Kolhan will be held on May 12. “We are steadily moving ahead with the poll assignments at the organizational level given to us from the high command,” said West Singhbhum district Congress president Sunny Sinku.JMM’s Jamshedpur president and ex-MLA Ramdas Soren added: “JMM is a party that is always with the people. We don’t go by faces but by our organizational strength. “We know Geeta Koda is likely to get the ticket from Singhbhum, but in politics nothing can be said till a formal announcement,” said a Congress worker in West Singhbhum.Stressing that the party needs to name its candidate at the earliest, another Congress worker said: “Our plan for door-to-door campaign can be chalked out only after keeping the merits and demerits of the candidate in mind.

Jamshedpur: With JMM and Congress — two key partners of the mahagathbandhan in Jharkhand — yet to name their candidates for Jamshedpur and Singhbhum Lok Sabha seats, grass roots workers of these two parties are in a fix about their campaign strategies. While party workers said they have been asked to start mobilizing support at the ground through various activities, but without a face to project so far, they are facing difficulties in connecting with voters and going ahead with the poll strategies and campaigning plans. On the contrary, BJP has already fielded its sitting MP Bidyut Baran Mahto and party president Laxman Gilua as their candidates from Jamshedpur and Singhbhum. While UPA’s joint campaigns will start ahead of polls, but it is us, the field workers, who prepare the ground days in advance through point-to-point networks.”JMM workers in the Steel City also echoed the same, adding that they are waiting for an announcement of their candidate’s name, without which poll preparations are lacking the required tempo. “We are learning from different sources that three leaders are in the race for the ticket from Jamshedpur. We are unsure who will be our candidate,” a JMM worker said, adding that delay in declaring the candidature will adversely affect poll preparations.Notably, JMM’s MLA from Baharagora Kunal Sarangi, senior leader Astik Mahato and former JVM-P MLA from Ichagarh Arvind Singh alias Malkhan Singh, are said to be in the fray for JMM’s ticket from the Jamshedpur seat.On record, leaders of both the parties however claimed that their election preparations are underway at the organizational level and the delay in the announcement of the names will not have much effect on the ground. Our preparation at the party level is going on smoothly.”Polling for both these seats in Kolhan will be held on May 12.
