Hazaribag DC pulls up Jayant for poll code violation

Hazaribag: Deputy commissioner-cum-district returning officer of Hazaribag Ravi Shankar Shukla on Friday issued orders to the election commission’s expenditure cell to deduct the cost of printing of pamphlets and calendars from the poll expense of Union minister Jayant Sinha for violating the model code of conduct.
Sources said an FIR will be lodged against them.Shukla said the district administration has launched a ‘Know Your Booth’ campaign at all booths for voters to verify their names and get it corrected in the electoral list.
The pamphlets, highlighting the achievements of Sinha, the sitting MP of the constituency, didn’t carry the name of the printers.
While Sauasy replied to the notice Yadav reportedly refused to accept it.
Jayant is contesting the election from the seat on BJP ticket.The Ranchi district administration had earlier this month also slapped a case of model code violation case against Sinha for allegedly publicising the achievements of the BJP-led government at a degree distribution ceremony programme of IIM-Ranchi.
