EC nod to D K Tiwari as new Jharkhand chief secy

Ranchi: The Election Commission has cleared the name of 1986 batch IAS officer D K Tiwari for the post of the new chief secretary of Jharkhand on Saturday. Tiwari is currently posted as the development commissioner of Jharkhand.“We had recommended his (Tiwari’s) name for the post to the EC through chief electoral officer’s office two days ago. The incumbent CS, Sudhir Kumar Tripathi is due to complete his term on March 31. A formal notification is expected on Sunday. The approval came on Saturday evening.

Tiwari is currently posted as the development commissioner of Jharkhand.“We had recommended his (Tiwari’s) name for the post to the EC through chief electoral officer’s office two days ago. The government will formally notify it on Sunday or the day after,” an official at chief minister Raghubar Das’s office said.State chief electoral officer (CEO) L Khiangte couldn’t be contacted for his comment but additional CEO Manish Ranjan confirmed that Khiangte’s office had forwarded Tiwari’s name for the top post.Born in 1960 in Mahoba, a town located in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, Tiwari studied MBBS from King George’s Medical Collage, Lucknow and MA in Development Economics from University of Manchester, UK.
