Cyclone Yas, forming in the Bay of Bengal, took the form of depression on Sunday. It is likely to turn into a very severe cyclone on Monday. During this time, a strong wind can run at a speed of 185 km. After this, it will move north-northwest. The cyclone is expected to hit off the coast of North Odisha, West Bengal, and Bangladesh on the morning of 26 May. According to the Meteorological Department, Yas will have an impact on all districts in the state. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm in most of the southern districts with strong thunderstorms. The impact of the cyclone will be seen in the state till May 27. Due to this, an alert has been issued to all the districts of the state.

Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that due to YAS, there is a possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorm, and strong wind in all the districts on May 25, especially in the southern districts. Similar weather patterns will continue throughout the state till 27 May. No alert has been issued by the department for the weather for 28 May yet. He informed that the Meteorological Department will continue to issue 24-hour alerts for thunderstorms occurring during this period.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will be clear in some districts including the capital Ranchi on Monday. Thunderstorms and light to moderate rains can be recorded along with thunderstorms in East Singhbhum, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, and Sahebganj.
