Munda flags off special train to Hosur, carrying 822 girls from J"Khand selected by Tata Electronics

Ranchi, Sep 27 (PTI) Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda on Tuesday flagged off a special train at Ranchi carrying the first batch of 822 women from various Jharkhand districts to Hosur in Tamil Nadu, selected by Tata Electronics for training there.These 822 women are out of 1898 selected candidates during a recruitment drive organised by Tata Electronics Ltd, a Tata Group company.The two-day recruitment drive was organised in Khunti, Seraikela, Chaibasa and Simdega districts on September 18 and 19 and the women will be employed at the Hosur facility after completion of one-year training, an official statement said here.Munda exuded confidence that such initiatives to provide employment to women in the tribal areas would check their exploitation.Terming the initiative in line with "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Munda said this would result in development of the nation."I would like to say that along with Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, give them equal opportunities. All those selected in the employment recruitment drive will be able to get further higher education along with learning-earning. Today the women of our country are not behind in any field, be it innovation or manufacturing, they are ahead in all. We all should ensure our role in nation building," he said.Munda said over 2,600 women had participated in the recruitment drive that was aimed at empowering young tribal women, and thanked Tata Electronics Ltd for providing them opportunities to work and upgrade their skills.The company will ensure training, accommodation, food, lodging and transportation along with a fixed salary to the selected candidates.
