RPF rescues 2 minor boys at Garhwa road junction rly station

Daltonganj: Two minor boys one had been missing since November 27 and the another had boarded a train which his father missed were rescued on Friday by Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the Garhwa road junction station under the Dhanbad division of the East Central Railway.The operation was coded as Operation Nanhey Farishtey. The rescued boys were neither victim of human trafficking nor in conflict with the law.According to RPF inspector in-charge Banarasi Yadav, "First, a 12 year-old boy was rescued on information from a shoe shiner on the main platform of the Garhwa road junction.We swung into action and took the child under our care. This child told us that he has no father and he lives with his married sister at Doranda in Ranchi. He gave us the phone number of his sister. His sister siad her brother went missing since November 27 and a missing report was lodged with the Argora police station on November 28."The Argora police have been informed about the rescue of the child who is in child care centre Vatsalya Dhaam in Daltonganj.About the second rescue, Yadav said, "A passenger in a coach of Up 18635 Ranchi Sasaram express told us about a boy travelling alone. We later rescued him."The boy was a Class IV student of Government Urdu Primary School Naree in Lohardaga.The 11-year-old boy told RPF, "I was with my father. We were to board Ranchi Sasaram express in the evening on December 1. My father went to relieve himself. In the meantime, the train arrived. I got into a coach but my father missed it."This rescued child too has been handed over to Vatsalya Dhaam which is trying to get in touch with the parents of this child in Lohardaga to take him back home. A plasma cutting machine intended to dislodge the blades was flown in by IAF from Hyderabad, but did not prove useful. Army personnel along with technicians used gas cutting machines to cut the parts of the auger machine. Vertical drilling began on Sunday evening. A drilling rig will be utilized to accelerate the drilling process. After drilling through the hill, the crust of the tunnel has to be cut for rescue of the workers. The workers will be lifted by buckets one by one. NHIDCL is co-ordinating the rescue effort. The plasma cutter initiated the auger cutting process, which had to be halted due to operational challenges on-site. The damaged section of the auger had been recovered, leaving approximately 8 meters pending. Manual digging and inserting 900 mm pipes will be used to reach the stranded workers.
