Ranchi Guv sets example by removing red beacon

A source in Raj Bhavan said: "Though the rule comes into effect on May 1, red beacons have been removed from all the official vehicles of Raj Bhavan. Red beacons with flashers were allowed for the governor and former governors, chief minister and former CMs, speaker, chief justice of the high court, Lokayukta, all cabinet ministers, leader of opposition and the chief secretary. "Additional DGP (operations) and state police spokesperson R K Mallick, said: "Compliance to this directive can only be initiated after the state government issues a notification in this regard. "This issue is not new to Jharkhand as within a month of assuming office, the Raghubar Das cabinet on January 24, 2015, had categorised the use of beacons into three types.
