Boost for ESDM, IT sector: 50% waiver on lease

Ranchi: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Saturday approved a proposal to grant 50% waiver on lease rent for two years to all IT and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) companies that invest in the state. Barnwal, revenue secretary K. K. Soan and other officers - who attended the meeting to develop the industrial belt in the state in such a manner that investors flock to Jharkhand. The move, which comes in the backdrop of the Momentum Jharkhand summit, could prove to be a shot in the arm for two sectors.The decision was taken along with other initiatives to help hasten investments in the state at a joint meeting of Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) and Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (JIIDCO) convened by Das at his residence in Kanke on Saturday.A top government official said: "The 50% waiver in the lease rent on built up areas of ESDM and IT companies for two years was approved with a view to help the companies which have already invested in the state and to attract more investments in these sectors.
