Ex-minister's aide fires at railway staff at crowded Ranchi station, held

RANCHI: The bodyguard of a former state minister fired at an on-duty officer of the South Eastern Railways on the crowded Ranchi railway station premise after an argument over littering on Wednesday evening.Vijay Kumar Rajak, the bodyguard of BJP leader and former state cabinet minister Baidyanath Ram, fired at station's health inspector from his semi-automatic rifle Rakesh Kumar. Rajak was taken to custody by the government railway police (GRP). The two had heated verbal exchange after which Rajak drew his semi-automatic rifle and fired at Kumar.Neeraj Kumar, senior divisional commercial manager of Ranchi division said, "The police constable has been handed over to the GRP.
