Consequently, his sister Agatha Sangma , who holds the South Tura seat, resigned on July 2 to pave way for him to contest.Notification for the bypoll will be issued on July 30, the last date for filing nominations is August 6, scrutiny of papers will be done the following day and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 9. "The commission has decided to use EVMs and VVPATs at all polling stations for the byelection," the statement said.
