Navy divers, Odisha fire services team join rescue operation

On Sunday, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) assistant commandant Santosh Kumar Singh briefed the group head of the Navy divers and the OFES team head about the rescue operation. The OFES team is being led by chief fire officer S Sethi. On Sunday afternoon, the team leader of the Navy divers and NDRF personnel went inside the 370-foot-deep mine to ascertain the water level inside, officials said.Ten high-power Kirloskar pumps, which were airlifted from Bhubaneshwar, have also reached the site and have been kept on standby. Another eight high-power pumps of Coal India Limited (CIL) are expected to be pressed into service in a couple of days, North Eastern Coalfields general manager J Bora said.
