Minister Lahkmen Rymbui Launched Revamped Website of Forest Environment

Staff CorrespondentShillong: Lahkmen Rymbui Meghalaya Minister for Forest & Environment, officially launched the revamped website of the Forest & Environment Department, Meghalaya at the Conference Hall of the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & HOFF, Sylvan House, Shillong. Also present on the occasion were Pius Marwein, MLA, PCCF, CP Marak, Director, State Informatics Center, NIC, Timothy Dkhar and officials from Forest and Environment Department. While congratulating the department, for taking the initiative to revamp the website, Rymbui said that with the advancement of technology, the department should take a proactive role in dissemination of relevant information pertaining to the department for the benefit of the general public. The minister also urged the department to provide relevant and accurate information and data and update it on a regular basis so that people can obtain information about forest related activities, Government and court orders, and others. Moreover, he said that this website should be converted to an e-library or e-museum where the techno savvy population, particularly the students and researchers, can access important information by just a click of a mouse.
